Secondhand Retro Surfboard – Mark Richards (Shaped by Frank Latta)

A true classic, this 6'3” Mark Richards surfboard shaped by Frank Latta is becoming increasingly hard to find in any condition.

The deck shows the usual heel marks. It will need some minor touch-ups to the swallow tail and flutes, and there’s an old fin chop repair. There is also a small nose repair required (see photos).

There is no delamination on the deck. The board does have a slight tail twist, but this does not affect performance—it’s still a solid rider.

The rails have some light shatters that could benefit from a bit of TLC. On the bottom, there are a few pressure dents, some small “onion rings,” and stress marks. It will also need a minor repair on the dragon logo, and there are two small surface cracks on the fins (see photos).

If you’re after a classic comp-style board, this is a great option. With a little TLC, she’ll come up beautifully.
