Secondhand Retro Surfboard – MR Design by Mark Richards, Shaped by Bob Marsetts

A genuine piece of Australian surfing history, this retro MR surfboard was designed by legendary four-time World Champion Mark Richards and shaped by respected shaper Bob Margetts.

What makes this board truly special is the personal signature on the deck, written in permanent marker by Mark Richards in 2013:

"To Dave, keep surfing. – Mark Richards, 2013."

Adding to its authenticity, the board still features its original late-'80s to early-'90s tail grip.

Condition is very good for its age. The deck has the usual heel marks and  no twist or delamination. It requires a small touch-up on the tail, two minor deck repairs, and has three tiny rail shatter bruises (see photos). The bottom has the usual thumb depressions. One of the side fins has a surface crack that is not moving and only requires a small repair, along with one other tiny repair—both simple do-it-yourself jobs.

With a cut and polish, this board would present beautifully and make a fantastic addition to any Mark Richards collection, while still being perfectly suitable to ride.
