Greg Noll da Cat

$5,000.00

Greg Noll da Cat. Extremely rare and a highly collectable board. This board is Number 170 out of only 250. Mickey Dora has since passed away in 2002. Personally signed by Greg Noll and Mickey Dora on the deck, and by Greg Noll on the bottom with "Shaped By Greg Noll 170/250".

Greg Noll, nicknamed "Da Bull" by Phil Edwards in reference to his physique and way of "charging" down the face of a wave, is an American pioneer of big wave surfing and is also acknowledged as a prominent longboard shaper. Noll was a member of a US lifeguard team that introduced malibu boards to Australia around the time of the Melbourne Olympic Games. Miki "Da Cat" Dora, a.k.a. Mickey Dora, a.k.a. "The Black Knight," was an iconic Malibu surfer of the 1950s and 1960s. He had a unique style, in and out of the water, and was generally considered rather iconoclastic. He is featured in the seminal surf movie The Endless Summer.

You will notice on the board some tape marks ... this board was wrapped up and stored for many years, and the light has very slightly yellowed the areas of the board where there was no tape, so the areas that were taped are slightly lighter. One tiny shatter on the rail. 9ft4" x 221/2" x 3"
