McTavish G2 - Gun Two

McTavish has been making the G2 for twenty years and it's gone through several modifications as contributed by its many great riders. G2 means "Gun Two" - a fresh look at big wave practicality, and the design is ahead of the curve for moderately big paddle-in surfing. The design features a fuller nose and shorter template to reduce wind havoc on the drop, and a wide point at halfway, allowing better steering on huge faces, and in huge barrels! The G2 also has generous tail rocker to aid easier wave catching and to allow the nose to be lifted on the drop. You don't need speed built into a gun... the wave does that... you just need control and early wave catching. The wave-catching volume is packed into the rails and deck - combine that with lower nose-rocker and added tail-lift and you can catch a swell early, get to your feet fast, and take the drop standing up! Its a thrill like no other, and allows you to elect your line of descent, negotiating the drop and following turn with intelligent choice of line. The G2 is not only limited to big waves, once the swell reaches head-high, reach for your G2. It'll deliver easy wave-catching and surprisingly loose handling in challenging conditions every time.
