Michael Peterson – Aragorn Surfboards Single Fin Swallow Tail

Michael Peterson – Aragorn Surfboards Kirra QLD. Incredible opportunity to grab a collectible MP retro surfboard. Hand shaped by Michael Peterson, and has his hand written initials “MP” on the bottom along the stringer. Circa 1976, single fin swallow tail. Once in a life time, an opportunity like this comes along to grab an incredible piece of surfing history out of Kirra QLD. Extremely rare and the ultimate collector’s item. A true piece of Australian surfing history from the man himself “Michael”. You can hang this one on your wall with pride knowing you have a truly collectable piece to add to, or start, your collection. All original, and with just some extra TLC around her, she will come up amazing. Usual heel marks depressions on the deck, a few light onion rings, with two small old school repairs. Needs repairs to rails, nose and tail etc. The bottom has some bump depressions, few slight onion rings, light scratches, foam blemishers, surface cracks at the base of the fin and a few slight stress marks in front of the fin – see all photos for work needed.

Michael Peterson shaped at Aragorn Surfboards 1976-77 in Kirra, Queensland. Between 1973 and 1975 MP won various professional surfing contests in Australia, including three consecutive titles at Bells. The pinnacle of Michael’s career was winning the 1977 Stubbies event at Burleigh Heads in front of thousand of spectators, riding an Aragorn board.
