Retro Surfboard – Mark Richards 6ft8″ – Personal Rider used at Worlds Masters 1997

Retro surfboard, Mark Richards, his personal rider, used at World Masters Contest 1997 at Tavarua Island, Fiji. 24 legendary surfing competitors were spirited away to Tavarua Island for the World Masters contest in 6 to 8ft spitting barrels. Some of the competitors were Rabbit Bartholomew, Shaun Thomson, Wayne Lynch, Micheal Ho, Ian Cairns, Gerry Lopez, Simon Anderson, Terry Richardson and Mark Richards to name a few. This is your opportunity to grab an incredible piece of surfing history. Extremely rare and the ultimate collector’s item. You can hang this one on your wall with pride knowing you have a truly collectable piece to add to, or start, your collection. She has been cleaned up many years ago showing off all of her battle scars. Restoration work has not added any extra weight to her – still a rider. Please note the board is lightly glassed and has lot of battle scars.

We do have an email from Mark saying – “That is the board I took to Tav for that event … but I honestly can’t remember how much I rode it, as I hurt my knee the 1st day and had to pull out of the event.”
