Second Hand Longboard – AIPA by Ben Aipa, Hawaii 10ft

Second hand longboard, AIPA surfboard by Ben Aipa, Hawaii. If you’re a Ben Aipa fan then this one is a must for your collection. Shaped by Ben himself in April 1997. We have been told by the owner that is was his personal board (still to be clarified). The deck has the usual heel marks. There are a handful of rail shatter repairs, with some other rail shatters that need some TLC. Some bump depressions, onion rings and small repairs on the bottom. A classic board either for your collection or to ride. No fins.

10ft x 23″ x 3⅞”

ABOUT BEN AIPA:

Ben Aipa has made a most significant mark in the world of surfing: making the board that fellow Hawaiian Fred Hemmings used to win the World Championship in 1968 and founded his own brand Aipa Surfboards in 1970. Ben invented the doubled-edged swallowtail design in 1972 and followed this with the split-tail design in 1974. Moreover, Ben has served as an informal coach and trainer to such top surfers as Michael Ho, Larry Bertleman, Mark Liddell, Sunny Garcia, Brad Gerlach, and Kalani Robb. Inducted into the Surfing Hall of Fame in 1992, Ben was named one of the Top Ten Shapers of All-Time by Surfing magazine in 2004.
