Second Hand Surfboard - 1990s remake of the Hobie, Phil Edwards Model 8ft6"

$1,800.00

Second hand surfboard, 1990s remake of the classic Hobie, Phil Edwards model. Californian Phil Edwards was regarded by many as the best/most stylish surfer of the late-1950s to the mid-1960s, though he rarely competed. Widely credited as the first surfer to successfully ride Hawaii’s infamous Pipeline in 1968, Edwards inspired the first significant generation of surfers around the globe, among them Australia's 1964 world champion Midget Farrelly. Hobie Surfboards in California produced a triple-stringer, D-fin, Edwards model (with numbered foil logo), which was imported to Australia by Paul Witzig. This remake is based on that model. To find one of these in Australia is super rare. Has the usual heel marks on the deck. Has had one touch up on the rail which has slightly yellowed off a little bit. The bottom has one small bump depression. Would be an amazing board to ride, or hand in your man cave. A great investment for the future. No fin.
