Secondhand Shortboard – Midnight Oil “Redneck Wonderland” Promotional Board
A very unique piece of Australian music and surfing memorabilia — this classic Midnight Oil “Redneck Wonderland” promotional surfboard has never been ridden and has only ever been used as a display piece.
The board was shaped by Peter Daniels for Mall Music at Warringah Mall, Brookvale, NSW, and was won as a prize when the Redneck Wonderland CD was released in July 1998.
Redneck Wonderland was a significant Midnight Oil release, reflecting the band’s outspoken approach to the Australian social and political landscape of the late 1990s. The album featured the powerful title track along with songs including “White Skin Black Heart” and “Safety Chain Blues”, making this promotional board an interesting piece of Australian music history.
If you’re a Midnight Oil fan or collector of Australian music memorabilia, this is a must-have for your collection. It would look fantastic displayed in a man cave, music room, surf shop or home.
The board has a few light scratches around it that should buff out, along with a couple of blemishes on the bottom from the fibreglass matting – please see all photos for condition.
Comes with a secondhand board sock.
